A typical 40 yard roll-off is about 22 feet long and about 8 feet wide. It stands about 8 feet tall, with walls about 7 feet high inside.
On one maker's spec sheet, the 30 and 40 have the same length and width. The 40 is about 2 feet taller, so it fits in the same kind of space. Sizes vary a little by maker, so call for the numbers on our cans.
Walls that tall make it hard to lift debris over the side. Many roll-off cans have a rear door, so you can walk bulky pieces in. Load heavy items first and spread them across the floor. Keep everything below the top edge so the truck can haul it away.
We set the can on your driveway or on the property. The truck backs in and rolls it off, the same as any roll-off dumpster rental. It needs a straight way in and clear room overhead, away from low branches and power lines.
On a jobsite, pick a flat spot where the 40 can stay for the whole rental. A spot close to the work cuts down on trips. Leave the truck a clear way back in for swaps and pickup.
