Rendon sits just northeast of Burleson, about 12 miles southeast of downtown Fort Worth. From Burleson, the drive is I-35W north about a mile, then FM 1187 east about 5 miles. The middle of Rendon is about 8 miles out, around 15 minutes without traffic.
About 40 percent of Rendon's land lies in Burleson's ZIP code, 76028. Rendon New Hope Road runs north and south through the middle of the area. Retta, a railroad stop in the 1940s, sits at the south end on the Johnson-Tarrant county line.
The area was first called Cross Roads. In 1891 a post office opened under the name Rendon, after Joaquin Rendon, the original land grant holder. About 9,000 people lived here in 2000, and the 2020 Census counted 13,533.

Paint and chemicals stay out of our dumpsters, because every load goes to the dump. Landfills in Texas do not take lead-acid batteries, used motor oil, oil filters or whole tires. A fridge or a window unit needs its refrigerant removed by a technician first.
