How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Dumpster in Fort Worth?
Two national cost guides put the average one-week dumpster rental at $380 and $386. For the 30 and 40 yard roll-off dumpsters we rent, those guides list $300 to $900 a week. These are market numbers, not our price list.
Neither guide lists a Fort Worth price, so the figures here are national. A Fort Worth quote turns on size, rental days, weight, distance and where the can sits.
What Drives Dumpster Rental Prices?
National cost guides point to the same few price drivers. Ask about each one when you compare quotes.
Size
Bigger cans cost more. In both guides, a 40 yard rental lists higher than a 30 at the low end and the high end. We run 30 and 40 yard cans for dumpster rental in Burleson and Fort Worth. The right pick depends on your job.
Rental days
Most companies charge by the week, and the guide prices assume a one-week rental. In the guides, each extra day adds $5 to $10. Our standard rental is 7 days, and more time is a phone call away.
Weight and landfill fees
Landfills charge by the ton, a cost known as the tipping fee. Both guides put landfill fees at about $20 to $50 a ton. Each can also has a weight limit. Past it, the guides list overweight charges from $40 up to $200 per extra ton.
Heavy debris is where weight adds up. Shingles, brick, concrete and dirt weigh a lot for the space they fill. The guides list different weight limits for the same size, so ask what your quote includes.
Distance
Both guides list a charge of $0.50 to $0.65 a mile for remote addresses. We are based in Burleson. The south side of Fort Worth is about 10 to 15 minutes up I-35W without traffic.
Permits
One guide notes that many areas require a permit to keep a can on a city street. Both guides put permit costs at $10 to $100. Fort Worth’s posted fee runs higher.

These are market numbers, not our price list. Dump 1 rents 30 and 40 yard cans only. The smaller rows show where the wider market starts.
For Texas, the January 2025 guide lists $300 to $450 a week for a 10 yard can. The July 2026 guide lists $350 to $650 for Houston, the one Texas city in its table.
The 30 yard dumpster suits many whole-home cleanouts and big remodels. The 40 yard dumpster is for bulky, light loads in big volume.
What Does a Fort Worth Street Permit Add to the Cost?
In Fort Worth, we set cans on private property, like the driveway. The backyard works too if a truck can reach it. A can on private property sits outside the city’s street use permit, though HOA rules can still apply.
If your job needs the street, the permit becomes a cost line. In Fort Worth, anything that sits in a street, alley or sidewalk needs written permission from the city. The temporary street use permit comes from the city’s Transportation and Public Works department. Its April 2025 requirements sheet lists these items:
- Fee: the sheet listed $112.50. The city’s fee ordinance effective October 1, 2026 lists $266 for a residential address and $296 for a commercial one.
- Lead time: at least 3 to 5 business days.
- Insurance: a certificate of insurance that lists the city.
- Traffic control: a traffic control plan for the spot.
- More than three days: a separate encroachment permit with a daily charge, if the street or sidewalk stays blocked.
That fee tops the $10 to $100 range in the national guides. Fees change, so confirm the current amount with the city before you apply.

How Can You Keep Dumpster Rental Costs Down?
- Pick the right size. A can that is too small can mean a second haul. A can that is too big holds space you never fill. Tell us about the job, and we will help you pick the 30 or the 40.
- Plan for heavy debris. Roofing and masonry debris get heavy fast. Mention it when you call, so the load stays under the weight limit. A big roof tear-off may need a swap partway through.
- Keep prohibited items out. No hazardous material goes in our cans, so keep paint and chemicals out. One guide notes extra charges for items like mattresses or old appliances, based on landfill rules.
- Be ready on drop day. Clear the spot and line up your helpers before the can arrives. That way the 7 days go to loading.
- Use the driveway in Fort Worth. A driveway spot keeps the street permit and its lead time off your list.
